Where We Work
EDC is very much a local charity based around Guildford.
Having been founded by Dr. Helen Foley,
a paediatrician
at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, it still has strong connections
with the Children's unit. Our current President, since 2010,
is Dr. Caroline Salmon who is a Consultant Neurodevelopmental
Paediatrician and Lead Clinician in the Child Development Centre.
Our catchment area is essentially the same as that of the Royal Surrey County Hospital. So EDC gives help to local disabled children who live or are educated in the Guildford area or are under the care of the Royal Surrey County Hospital Children's Unit.
All EDC's money comes from local fund-raising. It is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. So if you live in the area and have time to help with flag-days or other fund-raising events, we would be delighted to have your help. A little personal effort can often make a huge difference to the funds we have available.
